Si Scott, typographic illustrator with a hefty portfolio. His style is repetitive, but it’s always intricate, hand-drawn, and eye-candy.
“I like to be very hands on with my work and only use the computer to piece it together. I still get a lot of emails off people asking me what programmes I use to produce the work! I think I could actually get by without one — having to send original drawings by post or courier and things like that.”

although i love this guy’s work, i think the focus is too much on the fact it’s all handrawen. As if the same work, made in illustrator or any other illustration program, is creatively inferior.

I think this stuff is wack !! It’s a trick you see over and over again… and you cant even be sure it is he who started it ….

No, that’s just unfunded critisism. It’s no trick, it’s a style, even though si scott didn’t create this style, he has however taken it to another level.

Re: The ‘Non-Format’ piece. As Si Scott did some custom typography/lettering stunts for Nike as well, it may very well be that he was involved in creating these. (Oh, and, he even lists ‘Non-Format’ as clients, so that makes it pretty clear.)

You should all do your research before criticizing other designers - Si Scott has done lots
of work with Non-Format in the past. And by saying his stuff is wack - that’s just a load of shit!
Si Scott continues to evolve and change in style - nobody said the same work made using the computer is inferior, but to come up with truly unique design in the first place that is true talent!
It’s easy to be a critic - why don’t you do some design instead of spending your days
slagging off other designers work on blogs! If your such an expert lets see what you can do!
